Meet the Dudes:
Assemble Your Dudes

How does your wing attach?

Select a skeg to learn how to assemble your Dude!

  • Snap
  • Slide
  • Press the skeg down fully onto the board. Carefully center the wing with the bump side up and align the arrows with the skeg. Snap the wing on with the palm of your hands. Push the Surfer Dude in completely on top of the board. Surfer dudes do not come apart once assembled.

    Helpful Hints

    1. Sometimes we hear the wing on someone’s Surfer Dude was hard to snap on or their Surfer Dudes figure did not snap all the way in. Because no one wants their Surfer Dudes to come apart in the surf, these fittings need to be tight. If you are having problems with these, try one of the helpful hints below:
      • Wing won’t snap on
Make sure wing opening is centered over skeg attachment point
      • Wing still won’t snap on
Make sure the arrows on the skeg and wing are pointed in the same direction
      • Wing still won’t snap on
Place your surfboard upside down on a hard surface like a table; slap the wing onto the skeg with a hard downward motion
      • Wing still won’t snap on
It takes a quick but firm rap, don’t be afraid to rap it
      • Wing won’t stay on
Study the opening on the bottom of your skeg; when properly assembled, this opening (visible through your wing slot) must be as fully open as it was before you attached your wing (if the opening is closed or only partially open, it is not secure)
      • I assembled figure and skeg without surfboard
Try pulling them apart; it can be done, but takes a lot of strength
      • Figure does not snap all the way in
Place wing, skeg, and surfboard on a hard surface; press figure down hard, starting with front foot, then back foot, going back and forth between the two until both are fully in
      • Figure still does not snap in
Don’t be afraid to push still harder on figure
  • Slide n Snap. Slide the skeg into the wing. Insert the Wing fully into the board. Push the Surfer Dude completely into the board. Surfer Dudes do not come apart once assembled.
